For PV Systems greater than 10 kilowatts up to 100 kilowatts |
If you are interested in installing a PV system greater than 10 kilowatts up to 100 kilowatts, Aquila recommends the following steps: - First, review the program rules here.
- After you are familiar with the program rules, we suggest you contact a PV installation contractor from the list provided by the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association at this link: www.coseia.org/Directory.html
- Aquila recommends that you get estimates from two or more contractors.
- Once you have selected an installation contractor, fill out an application for a rebate from Aquila. Your installer can provide you with the information necessary to fill out an application, or can fill it out for you. You can download and print a paper application here, or fill out an application on-line here.
- Once your application is received, it will be reviewed and a reservation number will be assigned.
- Aquila will notify you about your rebate and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) payment following our receipt of your fully completed application.
Rebates and REC payments for PV systems greater than 10 kilowatts up to 100 kilowatts will be calculated as follows: - The total size of the PV array, in DC Watts, will be multiplied by $2.00 per Watt to determine the rebate. For example, a 20.0 kilowatt (20,000 Watt) system will receive a rebate of $40,000
- In addition to the rebate, PV systems greater than 10 kilowatts up to 100 kilowatts will receive an REC payment of $115 per megawatt hour. A payment will be made annually based on the total amount of electricity generated by your PV system each year.
- All rebate and REC payments are subject to the availability of funds and a pre-installation site inspection.
