For PV Systems up to 10 kilowatts |
If you are interested in installing a PV system up to 10 kilowatts, Aquila recommends the following steps: - First, review the program rules here.
- After you are familiar with the program rules, contact a qualified PV installation contractor from the list provided by the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association at this link: www.coseia.org/Directory.html
- Aquila recommends that you get estimates from two or more contractors.
- Once you have selected an installation contractor, fill out an application for a rebate from Aquila. Your installer can provide you with the information necessary to fill out an application, or can fill it out for you. You can download and print a paper application here, or fill out an application on-line here.
- Once your application is received, it will be reviewed and a reservation number will be assigned.
- Aquila will notify you about your rebate and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) payment following our receipt of your fully completed application.
Rebates and REC payments for PV systems up to 10 kilowatts will be calculated as follows: - The total size of the PV array, in DC Watts, will be multiplied by $2.00 per Watt to determine the rebate. For example, a 4.0 kilowatt (4,000 Watt) system will receive a rebate of $8,000.
- In addition to the rebate, PV systems up to 10 kilowatts will also receive a one-time REC payment. The REC payment will be determined by the total amount of PV already installed by Aquila's Colorado electric customers when you reserve your rebate. Current REC payments are $2.50 per DC Watt, but could change depending on when your application is actually received.
- All rebate and REC payments are subject to the availability of funds and a pre-installation site inspection.
